Wentworth, Wentworth Road, Aldeburgh

Boasting two sea-facing gardens, an award-winning restaurant and many bedrooms that offer spectacular sea views, Wentworth is one Suffolk hotel that dogs and dog owners will love. Take walks down the seafront, browse the charming town’s boutiques and indulge in some renowned fish and chips.

Further Information: Dogs can stay at Wentworth for an additional £2 a night.

The Milestone Hotel, 1 Kensington Court, London

This luxury hotel that is set in the opulent area of Kensington knows how to treat their four-legged friends. Named the ‘Best Small Hotel in the UK’ by the International Hotel Awards 2012, staff members will cater to your dog’s every need. They will memorise your pup’s name, offer a tailor made welcome hamper and offer an in-house Pet Menu that includes steak and sausages. To guarantee your dog’s safety when walking around the Kensington Garden, the hotel will provide you with a collar tag that has the hotel’s address embossed on it.

Further Information: More details about the services The Milestone Hotel provides your hound can be found here.

Hillcrest Hotel, 15 Lindum Terrace, Lincoln

Set in the historic city of Lincoln, the former rectory offers splendid views of the Arboretum and is situated only a small walk away from many popular sights. Relax in the conservatory and look out into the garden or take a stroll to the Lincoln Cathedral and Castle in the Bailgate area. You will also find Steep Hill – appropriately named, but don’t let that deter you. Many unique boutiques, tea rooms, restaurants and country pubs can be found up this cobbled street.

Further Information: The Lincoln Cathedral has been used as a double for Westminster in films, The Young Victoria and The Da Vinci Code.

Overwater Hall, Ireby, Cumbria

The Lake District has always enticed people to explore some of the country’s greatest wildlife and mountainous views. Overwater Hall is set in the North Lakes where dog walkers and their companions can enjoy long walks, often alone – ideal if you’re looking for some peace and quiet.

Further Information: Many of the guests bring their dogs, but if you’d prefer some alone time the hotel can arrange a sitter.

Luccombe Manor Hotel, Popham Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight

Relax and take in the views over Sandown Bay, or take a two minute walk and venture into the charming Shanklin Old Village. There is over 500 miles of well maintained pathways over the countryside and coastline to explore – perfect if you never want to take the same walk twice.

Further Information: Placed on the cliff top you can absorb some breathtaking views of Sandown Bay.

These are our top five hotels to stay with your dog, but the country is filled with plenty more. Some places may not specify that they’re dog friendly, so it’s always best to ask prior to booking. Where will your next trip take you?
