London’s Award Winning Bars and Clubs
London’s Club and bar awards have arrived once more, showing the awards are all encompassing and they cover everything from the best bar service to the sexiest host.
The awards are a glam affair with the good and the gorgeous creeping from their hot venues into the sedate safety of the Intercontinental Hotel in Park Lane. It really is a sight to behold. Imagine if you will, all the main players from the world of clubs. We are talking the DJs, the managers, the owners, the divas, the clubbers and the chefs to name a few. Put all of these high maintenance genii of the night and there is a night to remember. The start of the ceremony begins gently with cocktails and views of the noble Hyde Park. The glamour! The glitter! Then the high jinks begin in the main ballroom. it really is a spectacle and is a fitting way to celebrate the most fabulous clubs in London.
Covering all of London’s nightlife has been the difficult task that the organisers of the event have had to face. Imagine the sheer scale of London’s nightlife. There are bars, restaurants and clubs pouring out of almost every postcode which both thrill and revolt. However, these are the definitive awards that highlight the very best of everything that makes London’s nightlife so very unique and vibrant.
Being awarded the most coveted award, is something of an honour in the ceremony. London is a highly competitive environment, it is a creative scene that evolves constantly and new venues spring up in the blink of an eye. This particular award reflects the extremely high standard of clubs that are found in London and it is only the very best club that would be given the award. Well, this year the accolade went to Cirque le Soir. It was recognised as London’s best club for a very good reason, it is a one off showstopper club. It is exciting, unpredictable and thrilling. The club exudes the spirit of the unknown, a circus of crazy non-stop entertainment. It was a very well deserved win.
The second most prestigious award is the Best Night award. This is a salute to the nights hosted during the week as opposed to the weekend. Getting the punters to attend a Tuesday night of high octane pleasure is no easy feat. The call of the early Wednesday morning and the recession has curbed people’s desire for week night mayhem yet the stars in this field have a magnetic draw that is hard to resist. Dystrkt won this category as the best club to tantalise the Tuesday night crowd. It is a great night that triumphed at the awards ceremony.
Best Bar is a tough cookie to win. It is very difficult to win as London spouts forth beautiful and interesting places to imbibe. The winner was not a real surprise for anyone who has had one of the famous cocktails in the hawaiian paradise, otherwise known as Mahiki. It’s the ambience, you see and the fantastic setting. Any night of the week becomes a great night when the setting is right and it is just right here. The cocktails are famous in London, the mixologist keeps things fresh and unique. Certainly, mahiki deserved this award.
Georgi Radev has been the go to guy for cocktails for years and now he has the official best bartender award to show for all his hard work. The cocktails that he mixes are legendary and are available at Mahiki. His award is in recognition of the skills that are necessary to keep a bar relevant and unpredictable. Star quality is found behind Mahiki’s bar.
London can offer every kind of nightclub that has ever been conceived but if you are looking for quality, where those in the know go, then follow the awards to their clubs and try a taste of fabulous.
